what kind of telephone number is this?

Hello,

almost a month ago I lost my mobile phone at oslo, where I stayed for a
short holiday. Someone found and used it - the amount of my last
invoice is three times as much as normal. I lost the phone in the
evening and recognized my loss only the next morning after breakfast
:-(

Three calls went to a phone number that I recognize as a "normal" phone
number. The fourth, and really expensive one, went to a number that is
longer than normal.

21 37 79 18 xxx (the last three numbers are known to me, but the called
person is not the thief...)

Is this perhaps a company (but the call went out around 10:30 pm) or a
kind of service number?

I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with this...

Thank you in advance,

Thank you in advance,
Norwegian phone numbers are usually 8 digits. So this number is not a
norwegian. It might be Afganistan since they got 213 as prefix.

Great :-)

I helped a refugee to hold contact with his family, so I'll book this
as charity... :-D

Since there is no way to get my mobile phone back, I hope he will get
lucky with the 6230. Perhaps I should not have changed back to the
original graphite cover the week before I went to Oslo - the phone
looks really new.

Originally I did not want to buy a new phone so "early" (the lost one
was two years old) but now I use a 6230i and a BT headset, and my loss
has changed into a complete update of our telecommunications gear.
Everything works together, including the computer and our PDAs...

Dear thief, thank you. Happy new communications world... But my husband
still has to learn not to put his headset into his pocket when it is
still switched on...

Kind regards from Hamburg and good bye,

Why not post the "normal" numbers and time of the call here?

It could be easy to pinpoint who stole the phone then because all
Norwegian numbers have to be registered, and by checking who of these
has a common friend?

There is a lot of persons here that are willing to help you.

That could indeed be a way to get the old phone back - but no, thank
you. As I wrote, I have a new phone now and I am quite happy with this.
If the thief wants to use the phone from now on, he'll have to pay for
it himself - and everytime he takes it into his hand he will be
remembered "this one is not mine, I took it for myself instead of
turning it in to the police..." But to be honest, I think the guy sold
it for little money.

I'm not angry about this any more. Partly it's my own fault because I
did not put the phone were it belonged and were I've never had lost it.
As far as I remember I put it into one of the outer pockets of my coat,
but there is a inner pocket especially for mobile phones that I should
have used. Normally I did so - and I will look better after the new
phone in future.

I appreciate it! But still - no. I can only use one phone at a time...

I was more thinking about finding out WHO the thief is so that other
people can be warned about this person.

You're kidding, I hope.

You perhaps may do that if you have perfect evidence that the thief and
the person that used the phone are one and the same. But no one will
ever have that evidence.

In Germany, there are laws against what you suggest to do. In Norway
too, I hope.

Ilka
